KDR Helps Honor Memory of Courtney O'Bryan
Last weekend KDR actives all woke up early on Sunday morning and joined our THON sisters Sigma Delta Tau in the honoring of Courtney O'Bryan's memory through a tree planting ceremony. You can see the tree, which is planted outside of Shulze Hall, SDT's dormitory, and the accompanying plaque in the
Photo Albums.
Almost 200 people came to pay their respects and the ceremony was very emotional, including speeches from Courtney’s family and her pledge sisters. All the girls took turns talking about Courtney’s influence and provided short anecdotes showing how unique of a young woman she was.

Chapter House Gets New Lights
Earlier this month alumni brothers
Mike Buckingham ‘69 and
Bill Donadee '70 stopped by the house to help actives fix up and replace the lights on the ground floor.
As you all probably know the ground floor lights were previously designed as candlesticks and while they were definitely aesthetically pleasing, they were impractical in a social fraternity. Due to both normal wear and tear and damages suspected to have been sustained by other organizations that joined us for social events; current actives as well as Buckingham and Donadee agreed that protected dome lighting was a much more practical option. The downstairs is finally fully lighted and we have yet to receive any additional damage. We would like to thank Mike Buckingham and Bill Donadee for his help and invite any alumnus to come check the new lights out.
You can see more photos in the Photo Albums.

Thanks to
Louis Gorman '68 for submitting this photo from KDR that was taken in 1968.
There are many brothers in this photo that are still actively helping the house now as alumni.
Does anyone remember this photo? Ducen, Jack, Bill, Sam, Scott, Mike? What a great photo!!

He Once Was Lost but Now He’s Found Bill Kennedy '78 was inadvertently listed as deceased in our records for a short time, leading to lots of discussion and debate among brothers from his era. So you can imagine our delight when we found out that his record was erroneously updated and he is, in fact, alive and well. Bill’s a good sport about his mismarked status…in fact he says that KDR isn’t the only organization to list him as dead!
As a brother who is still alive and enjoying his alumni years, he had a lot of great things to say about his KDR experience and memories, including building up a $1,235,000 debt to Norton playing backgammon, lying in the grass listening to "Green Grass and High Tides Forever" and the beginning of canning for THON.

Have Extra Tools? By Mike Tori, KDR Zeta House Manager If you have any extra tools and supplies of any kind, please donate them so that the brothers can use them to clean and help do small repairs around the house. There are many things we can do to make the house nicer, but lack the necessary tools and supplies to do so. The age and condition of the tools do not matter, every little bit would be a big help. We appreciate everything you do to help us. Thank you.
